Waterpark

ACAC is home to the best WaterPark in Charlottesville.  With two outrageously fun waterslides, beach entry pools, tumble buckets, spray garden and Olympic size pool everyone is sure to have a blast!

The following policies and procedures are for the benefit and protection of our WaterPark members and their guests. They have been established to ensure the safe, sanitary operation and use of the WaterPark.

Becoming a Member
Please stop in or call a Membership Coordinator at ACAC Albemarle Square (978-3800) or ACAC Downtown (984-3800) and they can assist you with your new membership.

Poolside Café
Our Poolside Café serves everything from fresh salads to hot dogs, pizza, fountain drinks, ice cream, slush puppies and candy. Enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner under the shaded cabana or on our upper deck. The Poolside Café closes one hour prior to the WaterPark closing.

Swimming Lessons
Swimming lessons for individuals of all ages, from infants to adults, are available to ACAC members and non-members. Information and registration is available at ACAC Albemarle Square and then at the WaterPark beginning May 14thClick here for detailed swimming lesson information at the WaterPark!

ACAC Dolphins Swim Team
This Jefferson Swim League team is open to youth 18 and under who are included on an ACAC Full Facility membership, ACAC WaterPark membership or minimum of eight weeks at the ACAC day camp. Information and registration is available at the WaterPark.

Rentals
The ACAC WaterPark is available during and after hours for parties, picnics and celebrations. Please call 978-PLAY for more information.

POLICIES

  • This is a privately owned center, therefore only members and their guests may use the facility.
  • Our lifeguards are here for your safety, please allow them to help you by listening to their requests.
  • Please help us keep our facility clean and safe by keeping all glass outside of the fenced area of the pool.
  • Lap swimming is the only activity permitted in the designated lap lanes.
  • We ask that any child who is not toilet trained use swim diapers. If an infant who is not toilet trained is in the water, our lifeguards will ask the parent or guardian to place the infant in a swim diaper or kindly remove the child from the water.
  • A simple swim test, administered by our lifeguards, may be required before using the diving board, deep end of the 50 meter pool or slides.
  • Diving is allowed only in designated areas over 10 feet in depth, in all other areas of the pool, we ask entries be made feet first and facing the pool.
  • We allow the use of floatation devices, but ask they remain in the shallow end of the 50 meter and Beach Entry Pools.
  • Please help us maintain our lifelines or lane lines by not hanging on them.
  • Please secure any valuables, as ACAC does not claim responsibility for lost or stolen items.
  • ACAC Adventure Central is a family oriented facility; therefore we have zero tolerance for improper behavior, profanity, intoxication. Smoking is not permitted on the ACAC property.
  • Remember, all swimming activities within this facility are at your own risk.

SLIDE GUIDELINES

  • For your safety and enjoyment you need to be at least 48" tall or are able to swim two lengths of the slide pool against the current to use the slides.
  • Swimsuits without metal straps or buckles are the only acceptable apparel for sliding. Cut off jeans are not allowed.
  • Only one rider is allowed on the slide at a time. Doubles, trains or chains are not considered safe.
  • Please enter the slide in a seated position.
  • Please wait for the lifeguard´s starting instructions before riding.
  • You may ride the slide feet first only, in either a seated or lying down position.
  • Please keep your arms and feet inside the flume.
  • Stopping on the slide is not permitted.
  • Tubes, mats, life jackets, sunglasses and goggles are not permitted on the slide.
  • Please exit the splashdown pool area immediately.
  • Please form a waiting line on the pool deck, not on the slide stairway.
  • For the safety of our swimmers, the guards reserve the right to ask swimmers unable to swim to the wall on their own to take a break from using the slides.

WARNING - Pregnant women and riders with a heart or back condition should not use this ride.
WARNING - These slide guidelines are designed for your safety and enjoyment. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in serious injury to yourself and others, as well as a loss of your privilege to use our slide.

DIVING BOARD GUIDELINES

  • To ensure our divers´ safety, we allow only one person on the diving board at a time.
  • Please refrain from bouncing more than once on our diving boards.
  • Please jump or dive straight off the end of the board.
  • After diving or jumping, please swim immediately to the left of the board and exit the pool using the ladder.
  • ACAC may close the diving area for programs or other events/activities to take place in the deep end of the 50 meter pool.
  • To ensure your safety, as well as the safety of others, we may ask that certain dives and/or jumps be avoided by our divers.
